This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR‚ in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Whilst there is no formal licensing for this unit it is however recommended to re-qualify every 1 year.

Supersedes and not equivalent to HLTAID001 Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The course describes the skills, knowledge and techniques required to:
  1. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines
  2. Recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies.
  3. Provide a first aid response to a casualty in a range of situations.
The course applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, perform a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
 

Introduction:

The course is completed via a series of online training modules (taking approximately 4 - 10 hours to complete) with further attendance of a 1 day in-class practical assessment component with a trainer.

Target Audience:

This course is best suited to learners who are confident to complete an online training component then complete practical assessments via attendance at a 1-day face-to-face program in a classroom.

  • Administer feedback form.
