Provide First Aid (Online Theory & Face to Face)  

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations‚ including community and workplace settings.
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Learning Outcomes:

  • It is recommended that renewal for this course is undertaken every 3 years, with the additional requirement of updating the CPR component every 12 months.

  • This delivery method is best suited to returning students who are confident in learning online and have basic computer skills.
  • The knowledge content and theory assessment is delivered through our online learning system (DOTS), prior to a face to face practical assessment.


  • Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.
  • The 1st phase involves the learner completing a series of online modules via an E-Learning platform, in their own time.
  • The learner brings confirmation of successful completion of Phase 1 training to the Face to Face training day
  • The 2nd phase involves the attendance at a 1-day classroom-based practical assessment component, led by a senior Trainer / Assessor
